Typography • Collaboration • Print Format Production
Class wide project to create two print formats inspired by the Chicago World's Fair. Roles were assigned to each student to collaboratively accomplish the end result: one format capturing a diorama of the fairgrounds and a secondary format with informational spreads.
Stage 1
Roles were assigned to each member of the class and the topic was chosen: The Chicago World's Fair. I was given the task of documentation and photography, as well as the shared responsibility of producing spreads.
Stage 2
Production begins on the diorama, a miniature version of the fairgrounds with 3D printed buildings placed on a base of a CNC cut board. Each student is assigned a topic which correlates to a section of the final format. My topic was the construction of the worlds fair. See my spreads below.
Stage 3
The diorama is finished and documented. Each student produces five spreads for the final format and they are compiled. After a round of editing, the final files are sent to print. See diorama below.
